My friend Tarrah sent me photos of her son’s jungle theme bedroom and I am very impressed. Hudson must have really cool dreams sleeping next to this life- sized jungle mural. This playful room is layered with whimsical and sophisticated details, perfect for a little boy to play, snooze and grow.
I love the modern, grown-up touches like the lamp and side table that keep the room from getting kitschy. That striped rug was also a wise choice and can be used when the little boy decides he wants a different theme.
I love the papier mache animal heads from Anthropologie
. The animal heads are made from recycled cement bags and vintage french books by a women’s group in Haiti. Actually, Tarrah did a little research and found out that $60,000 worth of Haitian crafts were sold at the New York International Gift Fair to be sold at Anthropologie. Knowing that these animal heads are giving women jobs in Haiti makes me want to buy them even more!
The mural is from decorplace
and is installed like wallpaper. The white chair, ottoman and monkey tie-backs where purchased at Babies R Us
, the carpet is from JCpenny online, bedding from eBay and lamp is from Lamps Plus.
Thank you, Tarrah, for sharing Hudson’s room with us. I bet it won’t be long before he can name all the animals on his wall!
